Background
Malin Floors Ltd were pouring circa 500m³ of concrete per day which resulted in circa 83 chute wash downs of the concrete truck mixer chutes.
The Overall Objective
Malin Floors was discharging to ground with a surface watercourse following the site boundary at the bottom of the site and required a solution to ensure the water was safe prior to discharge.
Solution
Washdown waters from the concrete truck mixer chutes were fed into a Siltbuster lined 6-yard skip. Once the cementitious material in the reception skip had settled from suspension, supernatant water was transferred into a second 6-yard skip for the alkaline waters to be neutralised by the Siltbuster pHD.
