Background
Sandfield Farms Ltd, are part of the G’s Fresh Group who are one of Europe’s leading farming companies and are the largest salad onion producer in the UK.
The Overall Objective
Sandfields Farms required a reliable and cost-effective system to treat water used to wash salad onions and remove the suspended solids as a result. Siltbuster Process Solutions (SPS) were originally approached in 2013 when they supplied one of their HB100R Lamella Clarifiers to provide additional treatment capacity, alongside an existing unit.
Sandfields Farm required a significant increase in their capacity to wash the Onions that a previous unit could not cope with. As a result, SPS was contacted again due to the success of the previous 2013 installation, to provide another customised unit to deal with the increase in capacity.
Solution
SPS permanently installed a customised HB100R including walkways successfully treating the increased capacity of the farm to clean their produce within a small footprint.
