Background
Oscar Mayer specialise in making and developing retailer label prepared foods for the top UK grocery retailers across their 4 modern, well invested sites.
Oscar Mayer have been looking at wastewater treatment options prior to sewer discharge due to predominantly high pH wastewater being produced as well as the increasing Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) content.
The Overall Objective
Oscar Mayer contacted SPS to meet their discharge consent of TSS, FOG and pH whilst eradicating pollution incidents and reducing their Mogden charges.
Solution
Working closely with Oscar Mayer and identifying clear termination points, Siltbuster installed a chemical conditioning tank (coagulant, acid and polymer) followed by a Dissolved Air Flotation unit D50E. The DAF system fitted alongside existing storage units and we were able to utilise the existing screening and rope skimmer equipment. The site has a pump station, screen and balancing, the installed system reduces FOG levels and also provide savings under Mogden. The plant was pre-tested at Monmouth prior to being delivered to site for a quick installation, all undertaken in accordance with the Government’s Corona Virus Covid 19 working guidelines.
