Background
Malton WWTW in North Yorkshire required inspection and subsequent repair of their existing Primary Settlement tank scraper bridges as part of a capital refurbishment scheme on site. The work would be carried out in two stages, the first to drain and inspect the tanks, the second to drain and repair the structures.
The Overall Objective
Malton WWTW needed to have sufficient temporary primary treatment capacity available to allow the Primary Settlement tanks to be taken out of service for inspection and then for repair. The flow to be treated through the temporary solution was up to 110 m3/hr and needed to be split evenly to the temporary treatment units.
Solution
Siltbuster Process Solutions installed a distribution chamber on a stand to split the inlet flow evenly to three HB50M clarifiers. The clarifiers were fitted with auto desludge pumps that removed accumulated sludge to an ISO20 (30m3) sludge tank.
