“Water Quality Matters”
With increased levels of public awareness, the influence of key associations such as Rivers Trust, Surfers Against Sewage, and the recent publication of the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee report, it is very clear how much water quality means to all of us.
As a business, we strive to demonstrate our environmental credentials by offering a responsive approach to treating water issues at the source with package plant solutions. These solutions are based around a wide portfolio of treatment systems and it is encouraging that our clients are now seeing more of the breadth of our capabilities. Across all of the sectors we serve, our clients are seeking solutions for improving water quality, either for discharge direct to the watercourse, optimising existing assets, or ensuring that environmental compliance to regulatory measures is met. Each of our market sectors is taking their responsibilities with greater intent and as result, we see increased activity for our solutions:
With infrastructure construction investment identified as the economic recovery route of ‘Build Back Better’; the adoption of best practices for water treatment has become a key aspect for compliance. Our track record and service levels demonstrate the continuous commitment the business has made and is making to supporting this sector.
The food and beverage (industrial) market has seen significant fluctuations with the impact of increased production, seasonal demands, raw material availability, and increasing disposal costs. These challenges add pressure to and stress existing wastewater systems and our responsive and flexible solutions not only provide compliance but can increase capacity and also offer a cost-saving opportunity for water re-use.
Under the intense, public and political pressures, the UK municipal market will have to adapt to seeking more responsive wastewater solutions. The traditional procurement models will be challenged to ensure that river water quality is not compromised and water resources optimised. Offering responsive treatment solutions will provide flexibility to the demands of our changing water patterns.
The overseas market continues to grow in interest for responsive package solutions, both aligned to regulation measures from respective countries and also as the Siltbuster brand becomes more recognised both in our current and new international territories. Identifying these markets and potential partners is our forward-looking plan to ensure we support water quality opportunities internationally.
Given this increase of “water quality matters” awareness and pressure on environmental improvements, there is no better time to seek a responsive approach to water treatment through modular solutions – whether it is short/long-term rentals or permanent. This year, the business will continue to make a significant investment in the fleet to ensure we maintain the fleet size capacity year on year; to maintain an outstanding market position. This is in addition to further investment in our Monmouth HQ site, developing new products, and looking further ahead with continued research and development in technologies.
We all have a part to play in the Siltbuster team to make a difference in the environmental improvements and to make these achievable for our clients through our solutions. In doing so, the team will continue to position the business as the market leader for responsive water treatment solutions in the UK and overseas; championing the importance of water quality and responding to the requirements of the sectors.
