Background

Wimbleball dam near Dulverton in Somerset is a 50m high concrete diamond headed buttress approximately 300m long and 50m high.

The Overall Objective

Due to leakages, re-grouting works was required to be carried out to repair the dam.

Solution

Siltbuster installed two water treatment plants consisting of a number of HB50’s and MT30 units to deal with the flow of 540m³/hr plus pH monitoring.

Treated: 1.48 million cubic metres of high pH water with slow settling solids in suspension. (10 times the volume of wimble ball dam).
