Student Accommodation, Cardiff

Client:Vinci Construction

Background

In central Cardiff, Vinci Construction were constructing two new student accommodation blocks.

The Overall Objective

During construction up to 30 concrete lorries required wash downs on a daily basis, leading to high pH wash water needing to be treated before safe discharge offsite.

Solution

Siltbuster installed its RCW unit as the most effective solution to deal with the resulting wash water and neutralise the highly alkaline water within a limited space on site. The RCW was able to consistently treat the high pH water of 12-13 to be between the discharge criteria of 6-9. Siltbuster also provided on site training to enable site operators to effectively work the system.
