The course , A Practical Guide to Managing Water Pollution on Construction Sites, will present a practical overview of UK Environmental Legislation relating to water pollution and environmental permitting. It will provide practical guidance on preparing pollution management plans demonstrating that prevention is better than cure. It will also present procedures and models for estimating surface water and ground water flows with relevant worked examples used to demonstrate their applicability.

Siltbuster Wins Wales Business Environmental Export Award

 

Monmouth based specialist silt management and industrial water treatment company, Siltbuster Limited has won a prestigious award in the Wales Business & Sustainability Awards 2006, fending off stiff competition from companies from both North and South Wales.

The annual awards are managed by ARENA Network and sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government and were presented at the Awards Dinner at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff on Thursday 12th October 2006, where Siltbuster Limited picked up the Award for Most Improved Export Performance for an Environmental Product or Service in recognition in their recent overseas exports and ongoing exports development.

Siltbuster Wins Environmental Innovation Award in Australia

 

Since its' launch in 2003, the Siltbuster products have been recognised as setting Environmental Best Practice and are used by all the UK's Top Contractors but the export and sale of the first Siltbuster unit to Australia also netted an award, this time, the prestigious Australian Asphalt Association's - Annual Innovation Award for the removal of fine dust particles from washed flue gasses at an Asphalt Plant in Perth, Western Australia enabling water back into the system, an important requirement in such an arid environment. Fine aggregate particles collected by the Siltbuster can be put back into the product so wastage is minimized, saving the operation an estimated £50,000 per year.
