Siltbuster Shortlisted for Monmouthshire Business Award
Siltbuster are proud to be finalists in this year’s bigger and better Monmouthshire Business Award, in the category of Excellence in Innovation. The winners will be announced on Friday 6th October at a glittering black tie ceremony at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
Our entry was for a brand-new technology, ‘EcoClear’, developed in collaboration with Aquajet, to treat the alkaline and sediment rich water which results from hydrodemolition. The EcoClear is the result of over two years research and development work, including extensive field trials across the UK, Holland and Sweden. The EcoClear operates continuously at a flow rate of up to 20 cubic metre per hour allowing water to be safely discharged without a hitch. All this in a self-contained, easy to operate, easy to transport, automated unit which takes up minimal space.
Dr Richard Coulton, Siltbuster’s CEO, commented: “We pride ourselves on developing innovative water treatment solutions and firmly believe that EcoClear is going to be revolutionary. Not only does it draw on Siltbuster’s expertise in water treatment and Aquajet’s knowledge of robotic hydrodemolition, but it is also a safe and environmentally sound solution for dealing with what has, up until now, been the hazardous and potentially polluting by-product of concrete demolition.”
For this year’s awards there were three times as many entries as previous years as the region was expanded to cover the “old Monmouthshire” – towns and cities that were part of the county prior to 1965. This opened the awards to entries from businesses beyond the current Monmouthshire county to Newport, Caerleon, Cwmbran, Ebbw Vale and Caerphilly. The broadcaster Hywel James will reveal the winners when he hosts the gala dinner and presentation evening. We wish everyone luck!
