Siltbuster release video on hydrocyclone performance

How effective are hydrocyclones in treating sediment laden waters from a construction site?

If you have ever wondered how hydrocyclones work on treating sand and clay laden waters (typically found on construction sites in the UK) then view Siltbusters’ video.

Hydrocylones are commonly called desanders and are regularly used in the mineral industry for the recovery of sand, that is separating it from silt and clay. For this type of application they are an effective treatment solution. But they are ineffective at removing fine particles (clays). The high energy environment present within the hydrocylone also prevents the use of pre-treatment chemicals to improve removal efficiencies.
