Sabre Jetting Bridge Decking Repairs

Client:Sabre Jetting

Background

Sabre Jetting were carrying out work to a large bridge deck needed its concrete surface to be removed and repaired. This was achieved by the use of Hydrodemolition, the removal of concrete structures through the use of high pressure water lances, and produced a blastwater by-product which had an alkaline pH level (circa pH 11) and was laden with solids.

The Overall Objective

With works taking place on a bridge above a surface water course, the alkaline blast waters needed to be captured and treated before discharge to the surrounding environment.

Solution

As the works taking place on the side of live motorway, a small mobile system was desperately needed hence Sabre Jetting chose a Siltbuster HD unit with a small footprint to both reduce the pH back down to 7 and to remove the suspended solids.
