Background

Papworth Hospital is a heart and lung hospital in Cambridgeshire, England. It was home to the first successful heart transplant in the UK and one of the world’s first beating-heart transplants. The hospital is moving to a new premises in time for 2018.

The Overall Objective

During construction ground water ingress and surface water runoff accumulated with exposed geology from the local area. This lead to the water becoming milky due to the presence of limestone, and needed to be removed in order to safely discharged offsite.

Solution

Siltbuster installed an MT8 chemical mixing tank, 1 HB50 Lamella Clarifier and a 2 stage chemical dosing system to successfully treat the water.
