Davyhulme Waste Water Treatment Works

Client:Laing O'Rourke
Discharge Point:Foul Sewer
Flow Rate:40 – 80 m³/hr

Background

Laing O’Rourke were commissioned to complete upgrades at Davyhulme Waste Water Treatment Works. One of the largest water treatment works in the UK, it would provide Manchester with a modern water treatment plant.

The Overall Objective

During construction works, there was a requirement to treat site groundwater and surface water before safe discharge to the foul sewer. The water contained both rapid settling and slow settling solids, meaning it would require chemical treatment.

Solution

Siltbuster installed a 2 stage Chemical Treatment System capable of treating the required flow rates between 40 – 80 m³/hr. Following successful treatment, the treated water was safely discharged to the foul sewer.
